Using NMR Spectroscopy and Other Biophysical Methods to Study Protein-Ligand Interactions

A Bio-NMR Workshop

7-9 July, 2014

Wolfson College, Oxford, U.K.

This Bio-NMR workshop will focus on how solution-state NMR spectroscopy can be used, in combination with other biophysical methods, to study protein-protein, protein-nucleic acid and protein-small molecule interactions. Methods for investigating the affinity of interactions, determining the stoichiometry of complexes, identifying the binding sites and solving the structure of complexes will be presented. Lectures will include techniques such as cryo-EM, SAXS, mass spectrometry and docking/modelling, in addition to a range of solution NMR methods.

Confirmed invited speakers include:

Andrew Baldwin (Oxford); Justin Benesch (Oxford); Rolf Boelens (Utrecht) Alexandre Bonvin (Utrecht); Peter Lukavsky  (Brno); Tanvir Shaikh (Brno); John Vakonakis (Oxford); Glyn Williams (Astex Pharmaceuticals, Cambridge)

Participants are encouraged to present their work on biomolecular interactions. There will be a poster session and short talks will be selected from submitted abstracts. Spaces are very limited. If you are interested in participating in the workshop then send an email to  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it  . Please include your name, university affiliation, status (graduate student, postdoc, group leader), a title and short abstract (300 words) of your proposed poster/talk. Applications should be submitted no later than Thursday June 19th. Applicants will be notified of the success of their application before Monday June 23rd.
