A satellite symposium of the FEBS annual congress
July 4th 2009, from 10.00 to 16.00
Prague Conference Center (Prague, Czech Republic)
This satellite meeting is intended to present the opportunities provided by NMR today to the broad biological community. The most relevant opportunity is that biologists can exploit the European program which provides access to EUNMR research infrastructures (www.eunmr.eu).

10.10 - 10.30 Ivano Bertini, University of Florence, Italy
Opening and introduction
10.30 - 11.00 Christian Griesinger, MPI, Goettingen, Germany
"Neurodegeneration and stopping it: an NMR spectroscopic view"
11.10 - 11.40 Janez Plavec, National Institute of Chemistry, Ljubljana, Slovenia
"NMR studies of structure and cation binding to DNA quadruplexes"

14.00 - 14.30 Harald Schwalbe, University of Frankfurt, Germany
"NMR investigations of protein-ligand complexes as drug targets"
14.40 - 15.10 Marc Baldus, University of Utrecht, The Netherlands
"Structure and organization of protein assemblies studied by high-resolution solid-state NMR"
15.20 - 15.50 Kostas Tokatlidis, University of Crete, Greece
"Molecular mechanism of the Mia40-dependent oxidative protein fodling in mitochondria"
15.50 - 16.00 Closing remarks
A lunch buffet will be organized in order to stimulate informal discussions among registered participants to the EUNMR symposium. Some places are still available; if you are interested in participating, please fill in the registration form before Monday June 29th.
Limited funds are available to provide financial support to cover the extra expenses related to the participation to the meeting.
If you are interested please send an e-mail and your CV to: nmr_at_febseu-nmr.eu
The workshop will be held in the main conference center where the 34th FEBS Congress will take place:
Prague Conference Center (www.kcp.cz)
